The Giant's Causeway is a world heritage site situated in the Northern Ireland coastline on the edge of the Antrim plateau. The basalt rocks are believed to be around 60 million years old and extend dramatically in a stepped formation out into the sea. Local folklore states that the causeway was built by the Irish giant Finn McCool who wanted to cross to Scotland to fight his enemy Benandonner.
